Doug Sohn – Hot Doug’s
Last Friday I had the pleasure of visiting Chicago’s world famous gourmet hot dog shop ‘Hot Doug’s’. I was there once before back at the beginning of this blog and was pleased to visit again. We got in line at 8:15 AM and the line was cut off at 10 AM, a half hour before opening. We didn’t get to be served until after 2 PM.
Doug was amazing and took time to talk to every customer individually. A real nice guy running a small business on his own terms. You could tell he loved what he was doing, and more than anything loved people. Chicago will miss him but Doug has earned the right to go out on his own terms. In the world we live in today Hot Doug’s serves as a representation of the best a community, a business, or a person can be.
For that we owe you a lot Doug. Enjoy your retirement, my friend.
