The intersection of Milwaukee Avenue and Racine Avenue in Chicago. There is a bike buried in snow.

Racine & Milwaukee Ghost Bike

I’m taking a Silk Screening on Fabric At-Home class through Lillstreet, so I attempted to make a trip to Blick for supplies, one to find them closed due to the snow. Luckily the good folx at Chicago Silk Screen were open so I was able to get what I needed from them. On the way up the block, however, I noticed I was walking past Lisa Kuivinen’s Ghost Bike buried in the snow. Lisa was killed by a truck driver while cycling in the Milwaukee Avenue bike lane in 2016, an incident I remember being incredibly moved by at the time.
